Volunteer
Families are an integral part of the San Carlos Charter community. The school was created by the dedicated volunteer efforts of parents and community members and throughout our years, family participation has become an essential element and enduring part of our successful educational process. This value is shared among all stakeholders in the SCC community.
Family participation deepens the home-school connection and helps reinforce improved educational outcomes. Active family participation also builds and strengthens our community.
There are many opportunities to get involved. Families frequent campus and are regularly invited into classrooms to join and enrich and extend the educational experience. They help make possible some of SCC’s most cherished programs including seminars, field trips, milestone trips, educator appreciation, and community events.
“Leading a seminar has been a fun, hands-on way to participate in the Charter community. As a new parent I have enjoyed meeting other parents, sharing with learners, and experiencing some of the Charter classroom magic.” -Mollie T., current parent
