Parent Resource Team
Our Purpose
SCC’s Parent Resource Team’s (PRT) goal is to foster a collaborative and supportive community through various school and social activities designed to engage parents, educators and learners. Additionally, the PRT strives to enhance communication opportunities across the community at SCC and within the school district to connect and engage parents of key initiatives happening that impact our school.
The PRT’s primary goals are to: (1) appreciate and acknowledge our staff, (2) to build and foster community within our school, and (3) to connect with the greater San Carlos Community.
Staff appreciation and acknowledgements happen throughout the year: birthdays, winter holidays, Staff Appreciation Week, Back-to-School Nights, Learner Exhibition, etc. Staff are appreciated individually and as a collective group.
The PRT helps build and foster community with social events and meetings to connect parents and caregivers within the SCC community. The PRT helps support classrooms, grade levels, and the school as a whole in numerous activities through out the year. Additionally, the PRT strives to enhance communication opportunities across the community at SCC and within the school district to connect and engage parents on key initiatives happening that impact our school.
What We Do
-
Room Representatives serve at the classroom or grade level as a liaison between the educator(s) and the classroom family community for the purposes of communication and classroom specific volunteering needs.
-
The PRT plans and organizes class, grade level, and community-wide events. It also welcomes new families and educators to SCC.
-
The PRT assists with staffing teams for enrollment, technology support, our organic garden, and the school newsletter. Teams are constantly evolving to meet the needs of the school and community.
Here are just a few examples of volunteer opportunities offered through the PRT.
